Starting the Day the English Way
The Breakfast of Champions
The English aren't particularly known for their culinary expertise, but when it comes to making a truly indulgent breakfast the Full English is almost unbeatable. So pull up a chair at the breakfast table of 'Old Blighty' and discover the secrets of the Great British Fry-Up.
Frying Time
It takes years to perfect, but the essentials of a Full English Breakfast are pretty simple. Get the best quality sausages, bacon, eggs, mushrooms & tomatoes you can and fry them with a little oil in a large frying pan. When everything is sizzled to perfection, serve with some well-buttered toast and a side order of orange marmalade.
Still Hungry?
If the basic fry-up isn't enough to fill your stomach, there are a plenty of extras you can add. Two very English additions to the dish are Baked Beans and Black Pudding (a large sausage made of congealed blood). Or if you want a second course, Porridge made with hot water and a little salt is a firm favourite. And yes, we did say congealed blood!
Don't Forget the Cuppa!
Milk before tea or tea before milk? It's an argument that's been raging in the UK for eons. But one thing is for sure, no Full English Breakfast is complete without a cup of Britian's favourite infusion - tea.
