Limited Space – Big Ideas!

Our home is our modern piece of land, our territory. It is uniquely meaningful to us. Some people live in big houses or sizeable apartments. Others prefer compact living. Today many cities grow bigger as urbanisation spreads over the globe. The result is smaller spaces and less room for those who live there. Compact living will be more common when the number of citizens grows.

Be inspired!

Be inspired! Be creative! Start decorating! Your home becomes almost like your second skin. It reflects your personality, your style. Keep it simple. Keep it clean. Fill your space with good design. Or decorate it with vintage objects à la boho chic. And remember, a small home can still have all the features of a big one. Modern homes serve many purposes, today they are places for entertainment, leisure and work. A room can have multiple functions. Who says you can’t sleep in the living room? Who says you can’t watch TV in the kitchen? The kitchen has always been a pleasant environment for any kind of homework and listening to your favourite music while preparing some serious haute cuisine is part of the good life.

In different stages

In different stages of life, we find ourselves in different size homes. Our first experience of compact living often comes with our first apartment. Single living, or living with a partner and no children are usually situations connected to a smaller living space. Many inner city dwellers have discovered the benefits of a compact, comfy lifestyle, and why not? A small home can have a big heart.

Storage!

Storage can be a challenge with a smaller area. But does it really matter? People living the compact life often want to show off their possessions of choice. This is me! This is who I am! Every piece is a personal selection. The pictures we frame on our walls, the memorabilia from our latest weekend escapade. It could also be a toaster, a blender or a stylish new vacuum cleaner from the Electrolux premium range, like UltraOne, UltraSilencer or Ergorapido. And why keep good design hidden in the closet? These vacs are designed to be looked at. There are also smart solutions that enable storing vacs in a compact way – the Ergospace and the UltraActive – clever compact design that fits everywhere.
